School Camp

Willow Creek Adventure Camp has been housing School Camps near Victor Harbor since 1975.  The camp is home to “Beyond the Classroom” and “Surf & Sun“, and has a range of camp itineraries available for all year levels.

 

Beyond the Classroom

 

Beyond the Classroom camps are generally 3days/2nights (but can be longer or shorter as required) and can be accommodated in dorm rooms or camping depending on group sizes and requirements. Standard camp packages include accommodation and catering in a commercial kitchen, however, self-catering is available upon request.

 

Willow Creek Adventure Camp is designed so that groups can either use it as a base and go off-site to do activities OR for schools that also want activities on-site for the duration of the camp.  Beyond the Classroom run a range of activities and itineraries for all year levels and curriculum requirements.

 

Camp ideas:

 

– Aquatic theme including surfing, kayaking, raft building, snorkeling, beach Olympics – great for the warmer months
– Team challenges include raft building, team and leadership challenges, orienteering, and more
– Mountain bike skills with the mountain bike track onsite and trails at Myponga, second valley, and Kuitpo
– Bushwalking journey, start on the Heysen Trail, walk through to Willow Creek Adventure Camp, enjoy onsite outdoor education activities then hike through to Victor Harbor and go abseiling “Off the Bluff”.
– Solitude camping – students stay in swags or tents and have some alone time to build resilience camping amongst the Yakkas or in picnic scrub.
– Tour de Fleurieu journey – bike riding on the Fleurieu Peninsula using Willow Creek as a base for some of the journey
– Kangaroo Island Package – 2 nights at Willow Creek and 2 nights on Kangaroo Island with a 5 day camp including outdoor education activities, sightseeing, wildlife, history, and nature.

All inclusive camps cater for the school that want a complete package. These include activities, accommodation, catering, transport and more.

Primary Year level camps are generally 2-3 days in length and offer a taste of many different activities. Other themes include leadership camps.

Middle School Specialty Camps are either a camp that offers a taster of many activities through to a specialty camp.

Senior Level Camps are real specialty camps. These are often focussed on tourism, history, geology or other specific subject themes.

Situated on an operational farm, Willow Creek Adventure Camp is a group accommodation facility located on 3 acres of grassed activity area.
Bushwalks and other outdoor education activities are also available on the surrounding 800 acres of property.
