Team challenges at Willow Creek Adventure Camp

Team challenges at our Willow Creek Adventure Camp are designed to increase team skills in any age group. We teach the importance of having trust and a positive attitude, problem-solving and creative thinking. Without these key skills, the challenges will take a longer time to complete and be much harder, especially for our younger learners. When their first attempts fail, we guide them to not just give up, but address the issues and hurdles they encountered, highlighting team skills they need to work on along the way.

Trust in each other
Teamwork requires a high level of trust. We firstly encourage your team members to get to know each other a bit more and understand each other’s strengths, weaknesses and what each person can ‘bring to the table’. With confidence in each other’s abilities, they will work more effectively on challenges, with less conflict, and more enjoyment.

Problem-solving as part of a team
Solving problems and overcoming conflict within a team challenge are all part of building team skills. Teaching people the importance of listening to each other and allowing everyone’s different ideas to be heard is all part of the process. Problem-solving as part of a team can be an incredibly rewarding and uniting experience.

Creative Thinking
We love to see and encourage creative thinking during our team challenges at Willow Creek. We have seen teams with the most ‘out of the box’ ideas succeed the fastest through excellent teamwork. We have also seen many failed attempts where not everyone in the group understands or has confidence in the vision. It is all part of the learning process.

Positivity is the key to success
Team members working together and all having a positive attitude will increase the success of the team. It relies on having trust in one another but also having that common optimism that they will succeed, no matter the hurdles, and achieve their common goal.

We look forward to having you come and build your team skills, with our team challenges, at Willow Creek Adventure Camp.
